Judgement Day is upon us: DVMISSION confirms appointments to the judicial executive

Its now 8 days until we start the process of judging the entries (now running at 32 teams) to this years DVMISSION 48 Hour Film Challenge. After much negotiation and deliberation the judges have finally been appointed to the judicial executive and baring FBI intervention we should be running with the list below.

Nick is an experienced TV Producer and Director with over 25 years’ experience of in news, current affairs, documentaries and factual entertainment. Worked for all the UK terrestrial channels and many cable channels in the USA. Directed 93 films for television and contributed to over 180 in total. Shared the studio and locations with some of the finest camera operators and crews in British TV and travelled to every corner of the world sometimes by myself to shoot. Interviewed everyone from Royalty to firefighters, from SAS officers to transsexuals.

Andy GoodeAndrew Goode

Lighting Cameraman

Andrew has been a lighting cameraman for over thirty years, based in Southampton and has been editing and producing for the past decade or so. He started making films on Super 8 with the Student film making group at Southampton University, making films with zero budget and relying on creativity, much like the DV Mission Challenge and says he’s honoured to be a judge this year. Recognised for his rounded and grounded approach to filming and still tapping into his longstanding passion with each new shoot – seeing his work back on the monitor still gives him a big thrill. His extensive experience ranges from live broadcast television, through to medical filming and wildlife in both industrial and commercial sectors.

Jinx is an experienced and award winning Chief Executive Officer working in the area of Non-profit Organizations, Computer Animation, Corporate Social Responsibility, Film, and Event Management. He is currently Entrepreneur in Residence at Portsmouth Business School, a recognition of his success as business development professional in the community and charity sector. As the founder/CEO of Music Fusion he is heavily involved in the provision of music making activities for young people who might not otherwise have the opportunity. They have delivered music projects to over 35,000 young people, including their core work; young people who have experienced ‘challenging life circumstances’. Their music-making sessions help build confidence, self-esteem, communication skills and bridges between young people and their community.

Don’t forget to get your tickets to the DVMISSION not-so-secret cinema night at The Wedgewood Rooms on 17th March where you can see all the films submitted for this years, challenge, watch the awarding of the Pompey Oscars and have a fine old time of it at the after party.

The CHALLENGE WEEKEND takes place from 5pm Friday 9th March to 5pm Sunday 11th March.

The DVMISSION PRESENTS premier night, awards ceremony and after party, from 7.30pm Saturday 17th March at The Wedgewood Rooms, Albert Road, Portsmouth, PO4 0JW.
