DVMISSION announces panel line up for Friday 11th November event

On Friday 11th November, we open our celebration 10 years of rock and roll filmmaking with a short panel discussion with Q&A hosted by DVMISSION stalwart Rob Hind. Running as part of Southampton Film Week the night presents the best of DVMISSION a celebration of the finest short film challenge on the south coast. After 10 years and, well, I don’t think anyone is sure exactly how many films, it seems a good time to pause and take stock. And take stock we will.

Come along and wallow in nostalgia for that time you spent 12 hours trying to export a 2-minute video clip, or when you had to eat a mouthful of maggots for that essential close up. DVMISSION founder Jinx Prowse has curated for us a selection of some of the best of these moments from the last 10 years all of which will be screened at The Stage Door in Southampton on the evening of 11th November.

To kick the evening off, DVMISSION veteran Rob Hind from team Truth at 88mph will host a panel discussion exploring the impact of DVMISSION on the local creative community. Rob will be joined by Scott Castles of Broken Bricks Productions, Elkie Yates of Southampton’s’ Exposure Film Makers, and Chris Chapell, chairman of Autonomy New Media Group to discuss how DVMISSION has contributed to the vibrant local creative scene and the part it has played in their own careers and endeavours. Don’t miss the chance to look back on a decade of astonishing creativity, take stock of where it has got us today and become a part of where DVMISSION goes now.

There’s no DVMISSION this autumn – though the next challenge opens its doors to teams on the 12th November. So even though DVMISSION contenders will have to wait until March to get your next fix – there’s still a chance for some to pick up an award and for everyone enjoy the famous DVMISSION after party this side of Christmas . See you at the Stage Door!

Dress Code (will be enforced): costume de rigueur for carnival, themed, blinged, cocktail, black tie, white tie, mysticore, my-little-pony.
